Top Navigation and Maps Apps on iOS in Kenya for Q4 2021

In the fourth quarter of 2021, the top navigation and maps applications on iOS in Kenya exhibited notable trends in downloads and active users. Data from Sensor Tower provides a detailed look at the performance of Google Maps, Google Earth, Waze Navigation & Live Traffic, Qibla Compass (Kaaba Locator), and MAPS.ME: Offline Maps, GPS Nav.

Google Maps saw a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting from around 1K and reaching over 1.1K by the end of December. The app's weekly active users varied slightly but remained strong, peaking at approximately 80K in early December.

Google Earth had a modest yet consistent download rate, hovering between 100 and 166 downloads weekly. Active users showed a stable trend, with minor fluctuations, ending the quarter close to 1K.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced varied download numbers, with a notable peak of 103 downloads in early December. The active user count increased from 864 to over 1K during the same period.

Qibla Compass (Kaaba Locator) saw significant growth in downloads, particularly in November, reaching up to 110 weekly downloads. Active users also grew, peaking at 72 at the end of November.

MAPS.ME: Offline Maps, GPS Nav showed a varied download trend, with highs around 86 downloads per week. The app's active users increased progressively, reaching around 158 by the end of December.
